Marine Engineman's Electrical Handbook
Field Manual FM 55-506-2
Department of the Army
April 1977
Paperback, 457 pages.

This book is interesting because it was issued by the Army as a field manual for the engineering personnel assigned aboard Army watercraft.

However, this book appears to be a reprint of a Navy manual, as the first chapter is about the Electrician's Mate career opportunities and the words "Electrician's Mate 3 & 2" appear on many of the pages. There are references to the Navships manual in the text.

There are a couple asbestos references:
-Section on Cable Insulation lists asbestos as one of the class B insulation materials and says:
"Propulsion generators and motors are usually insulated with class B insulating materials."
-Chapter on Maintenance and Repair of Motors and Generators has a table entitled "Classes of Insulation" and asbestos is listed four different times on this chart (see picture).
