ASBESTOS REFERENCE:
- Sewer pipe may be made out of asbestos under special conditions.
- Asbestos gasket can be used for pouring joints.
- "In Chicago an asphalt-clay emulsion loaded with asbestos fiber and zinc oxide has been used for submerged steelwork."
- The priming paint used in the Sanitary District of Chicago contained asbestine. (see exact wording below).
According to the Handbook of Chemical Synonyms and Tradenames, asbestine was powdered asbestos.
CONDITION: Acceptable. Writing to endpapers. Some small stains to page edges and margins. Pages are in generally good readable condition. Covers have some wear. No dustjacket.
